The Second Wind Hall of Fame is an organization that recognizes retirees who have done outstanding volunteer work in the Carolina Foothills. In addition to recognizing volunteers, the organization provides scholarships for adults in the community who are seeking additional education or training in their current or new careers.
Called the “Catch A Second Wind” scholarship, the scholarship provides funds for an adult who is at least a high school graduate, has exemplary personal qualities, is a good citizen, is deserving and industrious, and is or has been in the workplace. It is also for individuals who have demonstrated a good work ethic and plan to attend an accredited public or private college, university, community college, or vocational institution.
If interested in applying for a scholarship, an application may be requested by emailing carolbrowning72@gmail.com or sending a written request to SWHF Scholarships, PO Box 711, Tryon, NC, 28782. The application should be received by July 1, 2025, and awards will be made at the SWHF annual luncheon in August.
