MILL SPRING—Conserving Carolina is inviting the community to a free lecture entitled “Update from MountainTrue’s Green Riverkeeper,” presented by Erica Shanks, Green Riverkeeper and Watershed Outreach Coordinator for MountainTrue.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Anne Elizabeth Suratt Nature Center at Walnut Creek Preserve.
The Green Riverkeeper will present on the status of the Lower Green River after Hurricane Helene. Attendees will hear updates about the cleanup process, bank stabilization ideas and projects moving forward, volunteer opportunities, and what the future of the Green River looks like this season for recreation. They will also hear about water sampling efforts and how to get involved.
This lecture is part of Conserving Carolina’s monthly Speaker Series at Walnut Creek Preserve. Pre-registration is required.
