The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a “Carolina Scramble” Format on May 5 along with closest to the pin contests on the two par 3’s. The weather was perfect and the scores were low. The winners were:

 

 1st place – Dave Hosick, Dennis Sakos, Charlie Enicks, Jim Diggs – 32

2nd place – Keith Beaver, Hub Arledge, John House – 33

3rd place (Tie) – Doug Gelbert, Mike Burrell, Jerry Perry, Tom Bolling – 34

 (Tie) – George Torres, Richard Barraud, Bill Basye, Jim Shirley – 34

The Tryon Women’s Golf Association played an Individual Low Gross/Low Net event and also had a Low Putts contest on May 6. The weather was cool and there were some low scores. The results were as follows:

2nd place Low Gross – Tracey Beaver – 43

1st place Low Net – Peggy Henson – 30

2nd place Low Net – Patty Aldred – 33

1st place Low Putts – Tracey Beaver – 14
