All-conference golfers Myles Menetre and Tourin Jackson will lead Polk County on Monday into action at the 1A West Regional golf tourney.

Entrants in the 1A West field will begin play Monday morning at NorthStone Country Club in Huntersville. Tee times begin at 9 a.m.

Polk County is one of 10 teams that will compete in the regional. The top three teams will advance to next week’s state championships in Pinehurst. The top nine players not on a qualifying team will also advance.

Menetre and Jackson earned All-Mountain Foothills 7 Conference honors after helping lead the Wolverines to a fourth-place finish in the season-long conference race. Led by Player of the Year Jacob Holland, East Rutherford won the MF7 regular-season title, with Hendersonville in second and R-S Central nipping Polk by three shots for third.

Joining Menetre and Jackson on Monday for Polk County will be Brody Wilkins, Piercen Edwards and Gage Harden.
