The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a “Carolina Scramble” format and had closest-to-the-pin contests on Monday, April 28. Nine groups were participating in the event on a beautiful day. The results were as follows:

1st place – Brad Rakow, Tom Bolling, Rody Dayvault – 33

2nd place – Doug Gelbert, Tom Murdoch, Ken Shull, Art Brown – 35

3rd place – Simon Turnnidge, Ed Weatherby, Gerry Holstein – 36

4th place – Dave Hosick, Dennis Sakos, Charles McKeller – 36

Closest to the pin winners:

#12 – John Schickling – 5’ 5 1/2”

#12 Forward Tee – Jerry Perry – 14’ 2 ½”

#17 – Hub Arledge – 44’ ½”

#17 Forward – Jerry Perry – 22’ 7”

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a “Captain’s Choice” format and a closest-to-the-hole contest on Tuesday, April 29. They then proceeded to enjoy a luncheon and meeting. The golf results were as follows:

1st place – Patty Aldred, Diane Torres, Peggy Henson, Faith Weathington – 38

2nd place – Marge Avery, Stephanie Lyons, Mary Lou Diekmann, Claudia Law – 38

3rd place – Joyce Arledge, Cindy Caldwell, Jo Ann Silvia, Nancy Hiley – 39

Closest-to-the-hole on #3 – Becky Kennedy – 25’ 5”
