SALUDA—To support families facing the challenges of dementia care, Saluda Living in Place will host an online session titled “Exploring Long-Term Care Options for Loved Ones with Dementia” on Tuesday, May 13, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., via Zoom. This class is designed to guide individuals in navigating the complex decisions involved in long-term care.
The complicated landscape of long-term care can often leave families feeling overwhelmed. This informative class will provide a clear and practical guide to help families make informed decisions about care options, ranging from in-home assistance to skilled nursing facilities. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a broad spectrum of choices available to them.
The class will cover strategies for evaluating the quality, location, and levels of care available.
The session will provide an overview of the financial commitments associated with various care options, including discussions about private pay versus out-of-pocket costs, an explanation of Medicare and Medicaid coverage, veterans’ benefits, long-term care insurance, and other public resources that may be available.
