Polk County High School students and their families gained access to a wealth of information about life after graduation at a community event held on Thursday.

The Exceptional Children’s Department at Polk County High School, in partnership with Polk County Department of Health and Human Services and VAYA Health, hosted a Resources for Adulthood Fair at the high school.

Thirty vendors representing various support agencies from the area were available to answer questions about post-high school resources. The event was open to all Polk County High School students and their families.

Attendees enjoyed complimentary pizza and drinks and entered for door prizes at the free community gathering.

The fair coincided with Polk County High School’s inaugural Kindness Week, an initiative spearheaded by the school’s SAGA cClub and Key Club. Throughout the week, students participated in various activities designed to promote kindness, with visual reminders posted around campus offering ideas and strategies to foster a more compassionate community.

Funding for Kindness Week’s art supplies, activities, and gifts for teachers and students comes from grant money provided through the Polk Community Resource Collaborative and Vaya Health.
