Polk Bass Fishing teams all place in season finale

Polk County High School’s bass fishing team concluded its regular season campaign on April 5 with a solid showing at the Palmetto Boat Center High School Tournament Trail event on Clarks Hill Lake.

The Wolverine duo of Wyatt Highsmith and Konner Huskey recorded their strongest performance of the season, landing a five-fish limit weighing 10.61 pounds to place 40th in the competitive field.

Fellow Polk County anglers Banks Barber and Tanner Osborn also demonstrated consistency, bringing five fish to the scales for a total weight of 7.90 pounds, earning 87th position. Dakota Casturao, competing solo, managed three fish weighing 5.46 pounds to finish 121st.

The Clarks Hill competition marked the final regular-season event for the Wolverines, who now await word on qualification for the prestigious two-day Palmetto Boat Center High School Classic Finals. Tournament officials will announce qualifying teams this week for the championship event scheduled for May at Lake Keowee.
