Mia Bradley homered and drove in five runs while Tory Coile delivered a perfect day at the plate as Polk County rolled to a 15-4 victory Thursday over Hendersonville in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference softball action.
The Wolverines (9-5, 3-2) extended their winning streak to five games with the six-inning triumph, continuing their offensive surge with a 15-hit attack against the Bearcats (4-8, 1-6).
After a scoreless opening two innings, Polk County broke through in the third. Coile singled with one out, and with two outs, Bradley hammered a two-run homer. Sarah Vitale added an RBI single later in the inning for a 3-0 lead.
The Wolverines added four runs in the fourth, all coming with two outs. Following Coile’s double, Aslyn Scruggs doubled home a run before Bradley double-plated another. After Laney Littlefield walked, Junie Mitchell capped the rally with a two-run double.
Polk County matched that output in the fifth inning. After Elizabeth Vitale singled and Miya Jackson walked, Coile delivered an RBI single. With the bases loaded later in the inning, Bradley and Littlefield drew consecutive walks to force in runs before Mitchell’s two-run single pushed the advantage to 11-2.
The Wolverines closed their scoring in the sixth as Bradley’s two-run double highlighted another four-run outburst.
Coile finished 4-for-4 with an RBI and four runs scored, while Bradley went 3-for-4 with a homer, two doubles, and five RBI. Mitchell added two hits and four RBI, with Elizabeth Vitale contributing two hits.
