Polk golfers take fourth in MF7 match at Hendersonville Country Club

Polk County’s varsity golf team delivered a solid performance Wednesday at Hendersonville Country Club, finishing fourth in a tightly contested Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match.
The Wolverines carded a team score of 332 on the par-70 layout, placing them just two strokes behind third-place R-S Central (330) and tied with Chase. East Rutherford claimed the team victory with an impressive 301, while Hendersonville finished second at 313.
Junior Myles Menetre paced Polk County with a 79, the only Wolverine to break 80 on the challenging course. Senior Tourin Jackson followed closely with an 80, continuing his consistent play this season.
Brody Wilkins contributed an 84 to the team total, while Piercen Edwards rounded out Polk’s scoring quartet with an 89. Gage Harden also competed for the Wolverines, posting a 108.
Brevard’s Bennett Norris earned medalist honors with a two-over-par 72, edging Hendersonville’s Bale Pace and East Rutherford’s Brandt Herndon, who tied for second at 73. Hendersonville’s Rutledge Pace also shot 73 to create a three-way tie for the runner-up position.
The match featured strong performances across the conference, with Patton (380) finishing seventh in the team standings behind sixth-place Brevard (344).
