TRYON—At its monthly meeting in April, the Knights of Columbus Council 9492 from Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon presented checks to two local nonprofit organizations. The Project Hope Foundation of Landrum, SC, assists K-12 children with autism. TROT (Therapeutic Riding Of Tryon) works with children and adults with mental and physical disabilities.

The Knights of Columbus also support the Charles Lea Center of Landrum. They, too, work with mentally and physically challenged children and adults. This is made possible through the LAMB (Least Amongst My Brethren) program, which was started by the Knights of Columbus national organization in the 1960s and has continued to grow in communities worldwide.

Local efforts are made possible by collecting donations at the IGA of Tryon multiple weekends each year between September and December.
