Published author and inspirational speaker, Alice J. McCall of Tryon, NC, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in her home in Tryon, NC.
Alice’s passion was teaching others about health, self-healing, and spiritual growth. She believed that healing creates a total uplift in attitude, enhances spiritual awareness, and changes the way you appreciate life every day. She was President of Healing Path, a practice that covered the entire mind, body, and spirit spectrum. Many clients were touched by her energy and light, and her gentle approach. Alice authored Living with Trust: Guidance for Your Life’s Journey (2016) and Wellness Wisdom (2009) as well as numerous inspirational and educational articles, CDs, and recordings.
Born in Oklahoma City, OK, to Genevieve and Norbert Wolslegel, Alice moved with her family to Kingston, NY, where she spent her formative years. She earned her BS degree at SUNY, Albany, NY, and MBA at Suffolk University, Boston, MA. Before awakening to her vocation as a spiritual teacher, Alice had a successful early career in the corporate world. This took her to Dallas, Houston, Rochester, and Atlanta, while working for Digital, Compaq, Kodak, and Bell South. She was also a real estate developer in Atlanta and Florida.
Pre-deceased by her parents, her sister, Katie Miller, and her precious Yorkie companions Keta and Kiva.
Alice is survived by her siblings Peggy and Frank Spadafora of The Villages, FL, Sharon and Sol Rothman of Bergenfield, NJ, Jack and Sue Wolslegel of Troy, NY, Mike Miller of Hurley, NY, and Ellen and Tom Zappala of Merrimac, MA, many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friends Launna Messerly of Cincinnati, OH, and Nikki Hedrick of Milton, FL, her longtime assistant/editor – both were like sisters to her.
A resident of Hendersonville, NC, for many years before moving to Tryon, Alice always felt very supported and happy in the area. She loved life and especially enjoyed art, music, the beauty of nature, living a healthy lifestyle, and spending time with her many friends. She will be remembered fondly by all those she touched.
A celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Tryon Depot Room, 22 Depot Street, Tryon, NC. All are welcome to attend.
A celebration of life will also be held in Kingston, NY, at a future date to be determined.
