Born and raised in Tryon, Warren now resides in Saluda. She graduated from Tryon High School and began her professional journey working for the county before joining the Tryon Post office in 1996.

Warren shared that the postal service landscape has transformed significantly over the years. However, the Tryon Post Office, established at its current location in 1960, has maintained much of its original charm.

“We used to sort all of the mail by hand,” Warren reminisced. “Now everything is automated.” She noted that technological advancements have greatly improved efficiency, ensuring accurate addresses and timely mail delivery.

As Warren prepares for her next chapter, she does so with a positive outlook, eager to spend more time with her family, including her 3-year-old grandson. Yet emotions surfaced when she spoke about the relationships she has built over the years with co-workers and customers at the post office.

One of those cherished relationships is with co-worker Angelique McMurray, who has shared in Warren’s journey for almost the entirety of her career, as the two have worked together for the last 28 years.

“I will miss her greatly,” McMurray shared. “It will be a new normal without Christy here every day, but we promise to stay in touch.”

Warren’s final day at the Tryon Post Office is scheduled for April 30. This marks the end of an era for her and the community she has diligently served. Her cheerful spirit and lasting impact will surely be felt for years to come.
