March 25 update on the Black Cove Complex fires in Polk County

Here’s a quick update on the three ongoing wildfires happening in Polk County.
From Polk County Public Information Director Kellie Cannon:
“The Black Cove Fire has burned a total of 3,046 acres and is zero percent contained. Approximately 55 homes have been evacuated and the fire has resulted in the destruction of seven homes, significant damage to one home, and the loss of seven outbuildings. The mandatory evacuation for this area is still in effect.
“The Deep Woods Fire has burned a total of 2,923 acres and is also zero percent containment. Around 110 homes have been evacuated with one home being destroyed and three outbuildings being lost. The mandatory evacuations for this area remain in effect.
“The Fish Hook Fire has burned a total of 199 acres and is at 72 percent containment, with no home currently evacuated. This fire has resulted in the destruction of three homes and one out building.
