Empowering Through Beauty, Inc. provides free haircare services, manicures, and pedicures

 

FOOTHILLS—On Tuesday, March 19, Empowering Through Beauty Inc. celebrated Women’s History Month by offering women from various nonprofit programs a day of healing and self-care. 

Through complimentary haircare services, manicures, and pedicures, the organization provided an opportunity for women to reclaim their confidence and feel valued.

For over 14 years, Empowering Through Beauty has partnered with beauty salons and schools to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment for women across Connecticut and North Carolina, including communities in Polk and Rutherford counties. The organization supports local nonprofits such as Steps to Hope and Out of the Ashes, among others, to extend its mission of promoting healing through beauty.

Founder Tanisha Akinloye understands firsthand the impact of generational trauma. Her lived experience fuels her commitment to creating spaces where women can begin to heal and rediscover their self-worth.

“Healing begins when we recognize our own beauty, inside and out,” said Akinloye. “At Empowering Through Beauty, we are not just providing beauty services; we are restoring confidence, nurturing resilience, and reminding women of their strength. Every woman deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued.”

The organization’s ongoing efforts have touched the lives of countless women, offering not only aesthetic services but also emotional and spiritual support. Through partnerships with local salons, schools, and community organizations, the nonprofit continues to grow its impact, proving that beauty can be a powerful catalyst for healing.
