The Polk County track and field record board recently received a round of changes, with multiple school records falling in the past year.

Senior Karsyn Huskey has established herself among the elite runners in school history, breaking into the top six all-time cross country performers with a time of 19:32.44 during the fall of 2024.

But Huskey didn’t stop there. At February’s state indoor track and field championships, she broke a 29-year-old indoor track record in the 1000-meter run. Her time of 3:04.66 surpassed Jennifer Dimsdale’s previous mark of 3:07.00, which had stood since 1996.
