Market to celebrate 25th anniversary on April 5
LANDRUM– The Landrum Farmers Market returned with a Pop-Up Market on Saturday, March 8, held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Joe Cunningham Market Pavilion, located at 221 West Rutherford Street.
With fifty-two enthusiastic vendors showcasing an array of fresh local products, baked goods and artisan crafts, the event drew over 1,500 attendees eager to support local farmers and businesses after a winter hiatus. The lively atmosphere was further enhanced by the music of Doug Hurleert and the Blue Ridge Rounders, made possible through a grant from Ag South.
Market Manager JoAnn James expressed her gratitude for the strong turnout.
“I think the reason we have such good turnouts for our markets is because of the community support for our vendors and the connections they make with our vendors,” James said.
She also highlighted the backing from the City of Landrum and numerous local business sponsors, which are crucial to the market’s success.
The Landrum Farmers Market is preparing for its full-time return on April 5, which coincides with its 25th anniversary celebration. The market will continue every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through December, offering residents a consistent venue to access fresh produce, local meat, and unique crafts.
Among the vendors present at the Pop-Up Market were popular local names such as Bluebird Coffee, Inglenook, Terra Lingua Farms, Yun’s Dumplings, and many more, ensuring attendees had plenty of options to choose from.
With a commitment to “Buy Fresh, Buy Local,” the Landrum Farmers Market remains a treasured staple in the community, fostering a spirit of togetherness and support for local farmers and entrepreneurs.
