GIRLS BASKETBALL: Staton named MF7’s top player, Alm named top coach, three others on all-league team

Polk County junior guard Bailey Staton has been named the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference Player of the Year, with three teammates and head coach Brandy Alm also earning recognition.
Polk’s Kylie Lewis, Kiera Littlejohn and Mia Bradley each received All-MF7 selection. For Lewis, it marks her fourth all-conference award, the first Wolverine to accomplish that feat since Briana Cunningham from 2003-2006.
Polk County head coach Brandy Alm received the Coach of the Year award after leading the Wolverines to a 23-2 record and the MF7 regular season and conference championships. It marked the first time since the 1999-2000 season that Polk swept both conference titles in a season.
Staton averaged 16.5 points per game in winning her second MF7 Player of the Year award in three seasons. She set school records this season for career 3-pointers and assists
