Stanley R. Haladyna, a resident of Tryon, North Carolina, died peacefully on February 25, 2025 at the age of 90 after a lengthy illness.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Grethe Haladyna (nee Mortensen), and his two sons, Jeffrey M. Haladyna, and his wife Christina, of Bastrop, Texas; and Gregg S. Haladyna, and his wife Denise, of Hamilton, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife Virginia Haladyna (Lucianin). He is survived by his sister Dorothy Chroback and her husband Joseph of Saddle Brook, New Jersey. He leaves five grandchildren, Nicole Patin and her husband Chris of Houston, Texas; Tara Haladyna of Anchorage, Alaska; Virginia Haladyna of Nashville, Tennessee; Timothy Haladyna and his wife Kara of Westwood, Massachusetts; and Stephen Haladyna of Beverly, Massachusetts. He leaves five great grandchildren Bennett, Braden, Beau, Calvin and Sylvie. He also leaves his lifelong friend Richard Russinko and his wife Valerie of Riverdale, NJ.

Stan was born in the Bronx, New York on March 2, 1934 to Stanley and Dorothy Haladyna. He later moved to Garfield, New Jersey and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1955. He was commissioned an officer in the United States Marine Corps in 1955, serving as a Tank Platoon Commander and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He lived in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. In 1977, he and Grethe built their home in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

In 2000 they retired to Tryon, North Carolina. He travelled the world extensively in his business career, starting as a Sales Representative and rising to the level of President and Chief Executive Officer of Novo Laboratories, Inc. the subsidiary for American operations of Novo Nordisk. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He volunteered his time as a Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 133 in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, and leading a group of Scouts on a trek at the Philmont Scout Ranch in northern New Mexico. He was an avid golfer and a former member of Silver Spring Country Club in Ridgefield, Connecticut. His children and grandchildren’s memories include going to Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parades and West Point football games. He also traveled frequently to watch his grandchildren’s sporting events. A true family man in every way, he will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
