COLUMBUS—A new offering is being featured at the Stearns Park StoryWalk program in Columbus.

Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, created the StoryWalk Project, which was developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. In 2021, the Stearns Park StoryWalk was installed in collaboration between Polk County Public Libraries and Polk County Parks & Recreation.

The new offering, Mice Skating, written by Annie Silvestro and illustrated by Teagan White, is currently available to read as part of the program through Monday, March 31.

The book features intricately detailed illustrations and is “a punny, warmhearted love song to winter that will have kids bundling up for some cold-weather fun of their own,” says Youth Librarian Jen Pace Dickenson.

The StoryWalk begins at the playground at Stearns Park and continues counter-clockwise on the path.

“Scan the QR code on the last panel to enter to win a prize pack, which includes a copy of the book, a snow powder science kit, and snow toys,” Dickenson adds.
