Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

POLK COUNTY—Polk County High School senior Zetta Anderson has earned many accolades during her four years in the band. She recently added a new honor to the list, earning 1st chair clarinet in the 2025 Western All-District Senior High School Band. In early January, Anderson auditioned against approximately 50 other clarinet players from across Western North Carolina and earned the highest score of the day.

Anderson participated in the All-District Band Clinic at Western Carolina University on February 7 and February 8. The senior high band was directed by Dr. Rebecca Phillips from Colorado State University, and Anderson had solos in several of the pieces that were performed.

PCHS Band Director Kimberley Benson has nothing but praise for Anderson

“Zetta is such a wonderfully well-rounded student,” said Benson. “She shines in all of her academic endeavors, is a fantastic musician, and has been a joy to teach. She continues to make all of us at PCHS proud.”

Anderson will audition for the North Carolina All-State Band in Winston-Salem in March.
