Former Polk County standout Nick Capozzi has been named to the Big South Conference preseason all-conference baseball squad.

Capozzi, a senior outfielder at Gardner-Webb, started 32 games last season for the Bulldogs. He finished the season with a .244 batting average, homering once and driving in 11 runs. He closed the season with hits in five of his final eight games, including a 3-for-4 effort against UNC Asheville.

Gardner-Webb is picked to finish third in the Big South. The Bulldogs open the regular season On February 14 with a home doubleheader against St. Bonaventure.
