Polk County Volleyball Club’s 15U team brought home the championship Sunday of the Battle in the ‘Burg tournament at the Star Center in Spartanburg.

PCVC 15U finished 6-0, dropping just one set in the two-day event. The squad, coached by Ansley Lynch, opened bracket play Sunday with a 28-26, 25-18 victory over a team from Tri-Cities Extreme Volleyball Club in Bristol, Va.

PCVC then defeated NC Gold Volleyball 15-3 of Charlotte 25-15, 25-21 before topping Stars 15 Natalie of Spartanburg 25-22, 25-23 in the title match.

PCVC 15U players include Jill Brown, Reeve Carroll, Elena Greve, Olivia Kirk, Claire Lawrence, Abby Lewis, Jacqueline Sankey and Madelyn Varnadore.

PCVC 13U finished 1-4 for the weekend. The team, coached by Mireya Roman, scored a 25-9, 26-24 win over a team from C4 Explosive Volleyball Club in Holly Hill, S.C.

Team members include Ella Baron, Ava Caristo, Sophia Hanna, Tilly Harris, Isabella Irwin, Adalyn Painter, Hadley Pereira and Marley Rickman.
