Tryon, NC—Manuel Austin Bradley, 89, went to be home with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Austin was a native of Polk County and was the son of the late William and Ruby Phillips Bradley. He was one of 10 children. Austin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he loved spending time with his family. He had a passion for serving and helping others and was a member of Saluda Masonic Lodge #482 and a Shriner. Austin was an active member of Tryon Second Baptist Church in Tryon, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William Ernest Bradley, Ray Bradley, Frank “Rat” Bradley; four sisters, Helen Champion, Shirley Bradley, Barbara Wilson, Kay Ravan and two grandchildren, Amie Bradley and Amanda Maybin.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Mary Louise Brown Bradley; seven children, Bobby Bradley (Chae) of Korea, Ray Bradley of Drexel, NC, Roger Bradley of Lenoir, NC, Mary Martin (Tink) Rutherfordton, NC Paula Gosnell (Edgar) of Travelers Rest, SC, Ruby Hice (Carl) from Lenoir, NC Loretta Walker (Kenny), of Lynn, NC; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and two brothers, Dean Bradley and Charles Bradley. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Tryon Second Baptist Church with Pastor John Williams and Pastor Lewis Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m.- 1:45 p.m.
Burial will follow the service at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC.
