LANDRUM – The Landrum Farmers Market has been awarded a grant from AgSouth Farm Credit, which recently distributed nearly $200,000 across 43 non-profit organizations as part of its 2024-2025 Growing Our Communities Grant program.

These grants aim to support projects that enhance agriculture and bolster rural communities throughout Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Among 187 applications submitted across the three states, the Landrum Farmers Market was selected as one of the grant recipients.

“Our Growing Our Communities Grant is another way that AgSouth Farm Credit strives to enhance agriculture and rural communities in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina,” stated Vance Dalton, CEO of AgSouth Farm Credit. “These grants help provide project funding for many great organizations across our territory.”

The Landrum Farmers Market, held in the Joe Cunningham Pavilion at 221 W. Rutherford, features approximately 50 vendors each week, attracting large crowds eager to shop for fresh, local produce, eggs, meats, baked goods and craft items.

In addition to the Landrum Farmers Market, notable grant recipients from nearby areas included Cleveland County Emergency Medical Services in Shelby and the Henderson Future Farmers of America in Flat Rock.

The AgSouth Growing Our Communities Grant utilizes an application-based system.
