All Polk County Schools will be closed for students on Monday, January 13. It will be a workday for staff.

“After checking roads today with our transportation department and talking with County Emergency Management there are still many roads in the county covered in ice that are not safe to travel,” Polk County Schools Superintendent Aaron Greene said on Sunday. “Any melting today will refreeze quickly tonight. Therefore, we have made the decision to close for students tomorrow. We are hopeful another day of above freezing temps and sunshine will accelerate the melting on roadways and result in better travel conditions for Tuesday.”

The regularly scheduled school board meeting will still proceed at Stearns at 6:30 p.m.
