HighSchoolOT names Overholt, Yoder to all-state volleyball squad

Polk County seniors Morgan Yoder and Sophia Overholt have been named to HighSchoolOT.com’s All-State volleyball squad.

Yoder, named the state 1A player of the year by the North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association, earned first-team selection. She finished the season with 247 kills, 57 aces, 82 blocks and 224 digs. The MVP of the state 1A final, Yoder has signed to continue her career at Mars Hill.

Overholt missed part of the season with an injury, but still recorded 181 kills, 22 aces, 24 blocks and 263 digs. She will continue her career at USC Upstate.

It marks the second time both players have been recognized by the website, which covers high school sports across the state. Overholt also earned second-team selection last season while Yoder was a third-team pick.
