TRYON—On New Year’s Eve, the Tryon Downtown Development Association welcomed locals and visitors alike to downtown for the Tryon Midnight celebration from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The event brought the town alive with the sounds of laughter and the glow of festive lights, setting the perfect scene for a night of celebration.

“Tryon Midnight is a wonderful culmination of the year for us,” shared Lourdes Gutierrez, Executive Director of TDDA. “It’s a way to bring families together to celebrate the new year close to home in our lovely downtown. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with our downtown businesses while having fun within our community.”

This year’s celebration was particularly special, attracting many attendees from out of town and adding to the excitement. Attendees enjoyed various activities, including children’s crafts, piñatas, a bean bag toss, and an ax-throwing setup.

High school volunteers from Polk County provided face painting to add to the festive atmosphere. The sounds of celebration echoed through downtown as guests received noisemakers to enhance their New Year’s experience. Emcee Andy Millard set the tone for the evening while Dean Trakas took center stage to drop the ball, marking the symbolic turn of the year.

As the Tryon community came together to celebrate and embrace 2025’s promise, the night underscored the importance of unity and joy, setting a hopeful tone for the year ahead.
