Polk County overcame West Henderson’s solid outside shooting and a 10-point halftime deficit Monday, rallying to defeat the Falcons 58-55 in the third-place game of the Knights Christmas Tournament at Apple Valley Middle School.

Down 15-10 at the end of the first period, the Falcons (6-6) hit six 3-pointers in the second quarter in surging to a 34-24 halftime advantage. But Polk County (10-1) clamped down defensively on the Falcons and made up that deficit by the end of the third period.

West Henderson finished the game with 11 3-pointers, eight of those in the first half.
