Joyce has been a beloved presence in the market for the past seven years. Her journey into the world of crochet began over fifty-one years ago when she picked up the hobby as a young parent looking for creative outlets while raising her children. Although her busy schedule as an accountant and bookkeeper limited her crochet time, retirement offered her the opportunity to immerse herself back into her passion.

“I crochet every day; if I’m sitting down, I’m crocheting,” Joyce shared with enthusiasm, highlighting her dedication to the craft. Her love for variety shines through in her eclectic collection, which features eye-catching designs and colorful creations. Among her most sought-after items are quirky opossums, friendly dinosaurs, and charming chickens that cleverly double as grocery bag holders.

Joyce’s booth has become a staple of the Columbus Winter Market. She finds joy not only in creating her crafts but also in the camaraderie she’s built with other vendors and customers throughout the years. “This market is a place everyone needs to visit,” Joyce emphasizes. “It has so much variety, and the vendors here are all very talented.”

For those interested in exploring her creations, Joyce’s work can be found at the Market and on Facebook at One of a Kind by Joyce. Additionally, for aspiring vendors or anyone looking to learn more about the Columbus Winter Market, further information is available at polkcountyfarms.org.

The Columbus Winter Market takes place every other Saturday from 10 a.m. to p.m. behind the Iron Key Brewery at 135 Locust St. in Columbus.
