The closure is a result of low membership, according to a former pastor.

As the oldest building in the historic district and a designated historical site, Saluda Presbyterian holds a special place in the hearts of many. It is one of the approximately 2,900 sites in North Carolina listed on the National Historic Register, underscoring its significance to local history and the state’s cultural heritage.

The church is located at 54 Carolina Street, behind the Saluda Library. The congregation invites the entire community, past members, and friends to join this final service, celebrating the church’s long-standing presence and contributions to Saluda.

Known for its motto, “the little church with the big heart,” Saluda Presbyterian has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the town and to helping those in need worldwide. Although this closing marks the end of an era, the love and support fostered within its walls will undoubtedly continue to resonate in the community.

All are welcome to attend the service and share the memories and fellowship that have defined Saluda Presbyterian Church for over a century.
