Hosts pancake breakfast by P3, Landrum High ROTC
LANDRUM—On Saturday morning, the Landrum Farmers Market at 221 W. Rutherford St. held its final market of the season, filled with winter vegetables, freshly baked bread, and holiday crafts. The event’s highlight was a delightful pancake breakfast hosted by P3 Retail for Rescue and a special visit from Santa Claus.
P3 Retail for Rescue, an upscale non-profit donation store dedicated to benefiting animals, partnered with the Landrum High School ROTC to serve pancakes to attendees. Guests also had the opportunity to participate in a raffle for a cat-themed quilt, and the winner will be announced on December 20.
Kelly Vinesett and Yvonne Bebber, the founders of P3, spoke about the significance of the breakfast and raffle.
“This effort raises money for grants which help us support nine different rescues in the area,” they shared.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, local author Donna Thornton was at the market, sharing her books “The Christmas Donkey” and “The Easter Donkey.” Thornton, step-daughter of the Market Pavilion’s namesake Joe Cunningham, shared her stories based on a donkey named Drupelet who lives on Shamrock Rd. in Landrum.
“The Christmas Donkey and The Easter Donkey are fresh tellings of the Christmas and Easter stories using the adventures of Drupelet,” Thornton explained. “Her journeys, with the help of her friend Buster, the barnyard cat, lead her to understand better the gifts God has given those who accept them. I hope readers will reflect on these simple stories, leading to a deeper understanding of God’s love for them and all creation.”
Santa was also on-site at the event, meeting with children as he prepared for the big day. Kids who met with him received a holiday treat: a free cinnamon roll on a stick from local vendor Sweet Mia Belle.
The final market of the season was a heartwarming gathering for the community, celebrating the holidays, the spirit of giving, and support for local rescues.
