Polk County eased into its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schedule on Tuesday, rolling past a rebuilding Patton squad 60-19 in girls basketball play at Polk.
The Wolverines (7-0, 1-0) grabbed a 4-2 lead in the first quarter and never relinquished the advantage, eventually forcing a running clock early in the fourth quarter as the lead reached 40 points.
Patton dropped to 2-7, 0-1.
Bailey Staton had 17 points and moved into third place on Polk County’s all-time scoring list, passing Kim Staley. Staton now has 1,098 points for her career.
Kylie Lewis added 12 points, with Kiera Littlejohn, Reeve Carroll and Sofie Abrahamsen each scoring eight. Charley Dusenbury added seven points.
The Wolverines will face a stiff non-conference test on Wednesday as Avery (4-1) visits Polk.
