Wanye Levister arrested by Greenville County police on Dec. 6
LANDRUM—A Landrum business owner accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile in September is now behind bars after violating the terms of his release.
Authorities say Wanye Levister, co-owner of Landrum Eclectics, was detained in Greenville County Detention Center on Friday, December 6, for violating the terms of his Home Incarceration Program. The 58-year-old was initially arrested for second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 16 and solicitation of a child by computer on November 20 and had been out on a $20,000 bond.
His partner and co-owner of Landrum Eclectics, John Anthony Dobson, 62, is also facing charges of kidnapping and sexual assault. Dobson is currently incarcerated at the Greenville County Detention Center.
A joint investigation between the Tryon Police Department and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of the two men. According to Lt. Ryan J. Lail with the TPD, both are awaiting extradition to North Carolina, pending charges in South Carolina.
On September 25, police received a report of a missing juvenile who was later located and interviewed. During the interview, the juvenile revealed that they were taken without permission and sexually assaulted. It was later learned that the alleged assault occurred in Greenville County.
The investigation into the alleged crimes are still ongoing, authorities say.
