An afternoon perhaps fit for wintry residents provided a perfect backdrop for Polk County’s Polar Bear 1 indoor track and field meet in G.M. Tennant Stadium.

The Wolverines made their home debut in the six-team meet and did so in fine fashion, with the Polk boys winning the meet and the Wolverine girls sharing second place.

The Polk County boys scored 89 points to nip East Henderson (86) and Thomas Jefferson (46). R-S Central won the girls’ meet with 98 points, with Thomas Jefferson and Polk tied at second with 90 points.
