POLK COUNTY—In October, the Polk County Health and Human Services office announced that it had well disinfection kits available to residents whose wells flooded during Hurricane Helene.

Now, those kits are being offered to anyone in the community.

These kits would benefit anyone who did not have their well tested after the storm and wants to ensure that their well is safe from bacteria. They consist of a bucket, bleach, funnel, hose, chlorine test strips, and protective personal equipment.
