COLUMBUS—The Polk County Cooperative Extension has announced a comprehensive six-week Men’s Cooking Class designed to help participants enhance their culinary skills. Classes will be led by Lindsey Edwards, the extension’s FCS Agent, and will equip men with vital kitchen capabilities.
The course will begin on January 2 and run weekly through February 25, with sessions scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will engage in hands-on learning experiences that cover various culinary topics and techniques to help build expertise in the kitchen.
The cost for the class is $120, which includes a book to assist with the instructional materials. Interested individuals are encouraged to register before the January 13 deadline, as spots are expected to fill quickly.
The Polk County Cooperative Extension serves as a valuable resource, focusing on enhancing the economic and environmental health of North Carolina’s food and agricultural systems. Their mission includes promoting family health and nutrition, positive youth development through programs like 4-H, and community development initiatives.
The extension is located at 79 Carmel Lane, behind the Meeting Place in Columbus.
