Saluda Elementary third-graders recently enjoyed an opportunity to visit the Catawba Science Center in Hickory, touring the Center’s planetarium and aquarium.

The experience, funded by a Polk County Community Foundation grant, aligned with the students’ Wit and Wisdom language arts curriculum, which covers the sea in the first module and space in the second.

“Thanks to PCCF’s support, students were able to participate in this enriching field trip without the financial burden,” said teacher Kelsey Townsley.
