James Rual Pack, 92, of Henderson County, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2024, while at his home. He was the son of the late Hubert and Bessie Pack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Anne Laughter Pack who passed away in 2007; a brother, Ted Pack; and a sister, Geneva Hostetter.

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, he was a native of Polk County and resided in Henderson County for 56 years. He was the owner of Pack Lumber Co. and co-owner of Edneyville Packers. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Financial Chairman.  He was known for all his hard work over the years. He was a devoted father and was a friend to many. He was a great help to his oldest son at M and M Berry Farm. He always wanted to see the job done.

He is survived by two sons, Mike Pack and his wife, Peggy, and Terry Pack and his wife, Kathy; one daughter, Becky Garrett and her husband, Bobby; five grandchildren, Michael Pack, Jr. and his wife, Diane, Jeremy Pack and his wife, Sarah, Aaron Pack, Juliet Thomas and her husband, Blake, Braden Garrett and his wife, Alysa; six great-grandchildren, Makayla McMinn and her husband, Luke, Marissa Donati and her husband, Josh, Eli Thomas, Cash Thomas, Thomas Pack, Olivia Pack; two great-great-grandchildren, Noah McMinn and Riley Donati; Sister, Anna Laura Owensby; Brothers, Russell Pack, Gerald Pack and his wife, Betsy, and Claudy Pack and his wife,  Brenda; a sister-in-law, Jean Pack.  The kids would like to thank his current wife, who asked not to be mentioned, for all her support of Dad for the last 17 years.

A funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Pastor Bryan Melton and pastor Bobby Garrett will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Building Fund PO Box 29, Edneyville, NC 28727.

Mike, Terry, and Becka want to thank everyone for their love and support during this time of loss.
