Editors Note: This article is the twelfth and final installment in a series in which the Tryon Daily Bulletin has highlighted unsung heroes in the community who came together to help their fellow neighbors after Helene.
TRYON—The day after Helene hit our area and during the storm’s aftermath, Dr. Cristina Chumbler and the staff of All Seasons Veterinary Hospital in Tryon showed an unwavering commitment to patients and their families.
Fortunately, Chumbler had prepared for the storm, setting up a generator just before it hit. This vital equipment kept her refrigerator running, allowing the team to preserve important medications and supplies.
Following the storm, Chumbler and team worked tirelessly to ensure the hospital could provide urgent care and treatment. During the region’s extended power outage, the hospital managed to see several patients daily and continued providing essential services, including ultrasound diagnostics.
She expressed her gratitude to her staff: Tonya, Lindsay, Patty, Claire, and Sarah.
“I feel fortunate to have such dedicated people beside me,” she said. “We wanted to be here for the people with pets that might need help and were available daily for any urgent needs. We could communicate with rescue teams in other areas via text, ensuring we could coordinate care as needed.”
Chumbler said All Seasons Veterinary Hospital is ready to welcome new patients as it returns to normal operations. She encouraged those interested in scheduling an appointment to call or visit their website, which features a convenient appointment request option.
“We want to be part of the community’s recovery,” Dr. Chumbler said.
All Seasons Veterinary Hospital, located at 486 Trade St., is a privately owned veterinary facility open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
