COLUMBUS—On Thursday, November 21, the Polk County Historical Museum will hold its “Night at the Museum” event.

Taking place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the museum, located at 60 Walker Street in downtown Columbus, the event presents a great opportunity for community members, young and old, to see what one of our local museums has to offer. During the night, characters from our past will walk around the facility in period clothing.

“We look forward to sponsoring our Night At The Museum event again this year,” said Polk County Historical Association President Pat McCool. “In the past, we heard from people that they often can not attend our daytime programs because they work. So we are offering this nighttime activity.”

Reenactors portraying figures from Polk County’s history will be on hand. Bettie Simms, Columbus Mills, Helen Stearns, and Mary Hughes will be a few of the characters in period clothing. Plans for the event are still being finalized, so attendees may be surprised by who they can meet and interact with at the event.

The Night at the Museum event is free, and the public is encouraged to attend. To learn more about the Polk County History Museum, visit polknchistory.org/museum.
