ELECTION DAY 2024: Polls now open throughout Polk County

POLK COUNTY—Voters in Polk County are heading to the polls today to cast their ballots in the general election as they make their choices for president, state governor, county commissioners, and more.
The polls opened at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 7:30 this evening. A photo ID is required, and any voter in line at 7:30 p.m. will be able to vote.
Voters must visit the assigned polling place for their specific precinct today, which are found below:
- Coopers Gap – Sunny View Elementary School Gym
- Columbus 1 – Polk County High School
- Columbus 2 – Isothermal Community College
- Green Creek – Green Creek Community Center
- Saluda – Saluda Elementary School Cafeteria
- Tryon – Tryon Presbyterian Church
- White Oak – Mill Spring Fire and Rescue
According to the N.C. Board of Elections, 9,974 Polk County voters cast their ballots during the in-person early voting period, which ended Saturday afternoon statewide.
