TRYON—Recently, several hardy volunteers spent their Saturday morning cleaning up litter and debris in Vaughn Creek. Due to Tropical Storm Helene, old bicycle tires, swimming noodles, innertubes, and other trash had entered the creek.
Eleven people turned out to help spruce up one of Tryon’s hidden gems, including Amy Arledge, Karen Bird, Joe Cooper, Madison Geer, Ellen Golda, Vard Henry, Susie Hursey, Steve King, Ed Marsh, and Greg Miner.
The Tryon Parks Committee, who organized the clean-up, would like to thank the Town of Tryon crew for their help in cutting several large trees blocking the greenway’s path.
