TRYON—On Friday, October 25, National Fine Arts Appreciation Day, the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Board of Directors celebrated its members, sponsors, and donors at its annual meeting at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross.
Over 60 members attended to learn about the accomplishments achieved in 2024 and the plans for 2025. Two new members were elected to the board, and a new logo and website were also unveiled.
Members also learned about the prominent early artists who came to Tryon in the late 19th century. Frances McCain portrayed Emma Payne Erskine, and Dr Bill McCall Jr portrayed Lawrence Mazzanovich. Jeanette Shackleford entertained the crowd with her piano playing and a sing-along. A good time was had by all.
