MILL SPRING—The Rotary Club of Tryon recently distributed books to Polk Central Elementary School students as part of its Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program. As each class entered the Science Center, a member of the Rotary Club introduced the students to the program by reading a few selected passages from the available books. After the introduction, students then had the opportunity to select a book to take home.
The Rotary Club of Tryon holds two book distributions at Polk Central every year. When students start in the school’s PreK program and stay at the school through 5th grade, the Rotary Club will have donated 14 books to the family’s home library.
The Rotary Club of Tryon has book distributions scheduled for Sunny View Elementary & Tryon Elementary in the upcoming weeks.
