COLUMBUS—An emergency shelter was set up at Polk County High School Saturday after the devastation of Tropical Storm Helene, offering refuge and resources to those who need it in Polk County.
Officials say that PCHS is in need of donations of pillows, sheets, towels, water, and any other items that can help as they help those affected.
Polk County High School is located at 1681 NC-108 in Columbus.
Tryon Town Hall is being converted into a community outreach center for water and emergency sustenance needs.
