Columbus residents asked to immediately conserve water due to hurricane damage

The Town of Columbus is asking residents to conserve water immediately due to the damage to the town’s infrastructure caused by the remnants of Hurricane Helene, officials said late Saturday.
“Due to the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Helene, our water supply has been significantly impacted,” town officials wrote on social media. “CONSERVE WATER IMMEDIATELY”
Officials asked residents to restrict water usage to:
– Essential drinking
– Cooking
– Hygiene
Town leaders also asked residents to:
– Avoid non-essential washing
– Limit shower time
– Fix leaks promptly
– Turn off taps while brushing teeth
