Addison, a triplet, received unwavering support from her parents, Ashley and Chris, and her two sisters.

Addison’s passion for writing began early in her childhood, and she has since dabbled in various forms of creative expression, from stories and poems to blog posts. When not immersed in writing, she enjoys a good read in a hammock or exploring the outdoors.

“I’d always wanted to be a writer,” Addison says. “I started taking it seriously at age 13 and wrote one book, but it’s unpublished, and I didn’t want that one to be my debut.”

Addison’s fascination with historical narratives, particularly those related to the Holocaust, inspired her to craft a story that offers a unique Christian perspective on this dark historical period. She felt compelled to shed light on the darkness through her writing, bringing a fresh angle to the many stories surrounding the era.

“I wanted the Christian aspect to shine through,” she says. “I feel like salvation, grace, and forgiveness are key themes throughout the book.”

While Addison authored the book, her sisters played integral roles in bringing “The Yellow Badge” to fruition. Laney utilized her artistic skills to design the book’s cover and its upcoming sequel, while Caitlyn contributed as a co-plotter, providing valuable input throughout the storytelling process.

“I’m proud of Addison,” her mother Ashley remarked. “As someone who loves to read, and while I’m partial, this book is written so well that you can feel every emotion she describes.”

Ashley went on to highlight the collaborative effort among her daughters.

“They all three have such different personalities, and it was such a proud moment to see each play an intricate part,” she says. “She has cheerleaders in her sisters, who were there for her throughout the project.”

“The Yellow Badge” follows the protagonist, Ruth DeVos, as she grapples with her parents’ arrest and her brother’s involvement in the Dutch Resistance. The story culminates in Ruth’s poignant journey as she confronts her enemies and discovers the true essence of love, liberty, faith, and freedom, along with the sacrifices required to uphold them.

The novel is available online through Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other booksellers.
