LANDRUM—The Landrum Cardinals secured a 48-0 victory over the West-Oak Warriors at its homecoming game, improving their season record to 4-1.
The Cardinals’ junior quarterback, Ty Foster, delivered an outstanding performance, scoring four first-half touchdowns all to different receivers and racking up 276 passing yards by the end of the game. After the game, Head Coach Brent Bridges praised Foster’s exceptional command of the offense.
Foster got the Cardinals’ offense started early with a 21-yard screen pass to Titus Poore for the opening touchdown. Foster continued to dazzle throughout the first half, connecting with A.J. Lindsey, Micah McClintock, and Kirby Gentry for additional touchdown passes, propelling the Cardinals to a commanding 34-0 lead at halftime.
The Cardinals’ dominance persisted in the third quarter, with Micah McClintock and Aidan Kelley contributing touchdowns to finish off the scoring.
With a staggering total of 435 yards compared to the Warriors’ 70 and a commanding 21 first downs, the Cardinals’ performance was nothing short of exceptional. Their 35 rushes for 235 yards demonstrated their multifaceted game plan, leaving the Warriors struggling to score and forcing multiple turnovers.
The Landrum Cardinals will next play at Blue Ridge (2-2) on Friday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m. The conditions are expected to be rainy, and temperatures will be in the mid-seventies.
