TRYON—“The Great American Trailer Park Musical” will open Thursday, September 19, at the TLT Workshop Theater in Tryon.

Written by Betsy Kelso and featuring music and lyrics by David Nehls, the action takes place in Armadillo Acres, a North Florida trailer park in the town of Starke. Scott Waddell, in collaboration with Musical Director Pam McNeil, is directing the show.

This is a country, rock, blues and disco musical about roadkill, adultery, hysterical pregnancy, an electric chair, and agoraphobia. Featuring a Greek-chorus trio of women leading the audience through the zany lives of Armadillo Acres trailer park residents, the show has romance, scandal, a runaway stripper, a crazed magic-marker-sniffing ex-boyfriend, and lots more. It also features profanity, loud noises, guns, adult situations, and lots of rock and roll!
